Fortescue Festoon Replacements
Dynamical Construction were engaged by the OEM Metso on behalf of Fortescue to perform the construction management and trades execution works for two festoon replacements on the Car Positioners/Train Unloaders at Anderson Point.
Dynamical Construction self-performed all electrical works on the projects
and engaged and managed supporting services such as mechanical trades,
cranes/riggers, surveyors, NDT, and lubrication/piping specialists to facilitate the successful execution.

Project Scope
Installation New Festoon Assemblies
The projects involved the removal of the existing and installation of new car positioner/train unloader festoons, runway beams and toe arms. The new festoon cabling was installed in existing cable ladder to both the land side and onboard enclosers and equipment. All cabling was terminated and tested prior to supporting the re-commissioning of the machine which was handed back on schedule. Both projects listed over 4000 man-hours each and were each expended over 13 days with no reportable safety incidents.
